ZESCO United have maintained top spot on the FAZ Super League table with 36 points.

This was after recording a 3-2 victory away to Trident FC.

Goals from Enock Sakala, John Chingandu and ZESCO United and a late Kanamuli Kapilimba own goal ensured that the Ndola based outfit continued to be the pacesetters at the summit.

A Walaza Tembo penalty in 55th minute and Lassa Kiala goal in the dying moments of the match for Trident were not enough to lift the North Westerners who are bottom of the table with 10 points, out of the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Nkoloma Stadium was left stunned after Red Arrows suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Green Eagles.

Arrows’ Alassane Diarra cancelled out a Freddy Michael goal at the stroke of half time but Gift Mwansa struck for Eagles in the 73rd minute to cause an upset for the ZAF sponsored side.

Third placed Arrows lost an opportunity to apply pressure on league leaders ZESCO United and were leapfrogged into second place by police outfit Nkwazi who are now in second place after beating Prison Leopards one goal to nil courtesy of a Brian Masanyinga goal.

Nkwazi now have 27 points which is a point ahead of Arrows who have 26.
