The Zambia under-17 women’s national football team will face Japan, Poland and Brazil in the group stage of the Dominican Republic FIFA World Cup.
According to the draws held in Santa Domingo on Saturday night, the Zambia women’s under-17 squad would compete in Group D, alongside Japan, Poland and Brazil.
The Copper Princesses are among 16 teams set to battle it out in the eighth edition of the World Cup, scheduled to run from October 16 to November 3, 2024.
A week ago, the Zambia women’s under-17 national football team qualified for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The Copper Princesses held Morocco to a nil-nil draw in the second leg of their encounter, securing their spot in the global tournament.

A 3-1 first leg win gave the Carol Kanyemba-led side a significant advantage at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium.
The host nation, the Dominican Republic, would make their maiden appearance at a FIFA women’s global tournament.
They have been drawn in Group A alongside Ecuador, New Zealand, and Nigeria.
