Zambia Army Commander, Lieutenant General Geoffrey Zyeele, has called for enhanced collaboration between the Zambian and Kenyan defence forces to promote regional security and stability.
Speaking during a courtesy call by National Defence College of Kenya Commandant, Lieutenant General Juma Shee Mwinyikai, at Army Headquarters in Lusaka, Zyeele emphasised the importance of joint efforts in addressing regional security challenges.
“A threat to security anywhere is a threat to security everywhere, hence the need to navigate opportunities and challenges to ensure the safety and security of our two countries,” Zyeele said.
He noted that the visit by the Kenyan delegation would foster meaningful discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two defence forces.
“We will leverage this visit to reinforce our commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and safeguarding the interests of both nations,” he added.

Mwinyikai, in turn, congratulated Zyeele on his appointment as Army Commander and expressed optimism about his leadership.
He highlighted the strategic importance of the visit, noting that it would provide insights to enhance operations at the National Defence College of Kenya.
“The College aspires to be a regional centre of excellence in security and strategic studies for senior officers.
“We are proud that Zambian officers who have trained at our institution since its establishment in 1994 have consistently exceeded expectations,” Mwinyikai said.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties and enhancing cooperation between their respective defence forces to promote peace and security across the region.
