Zambia International Agriculture Financing, Investment Summit 2023 set for October

0

The hosting of the Zambia International Agriculture Financing & Investment Summit (ZIAFIS) 2023 has been moved to October from July to ensure it does not take place at the same time with the agriculture international show.

The decision came after stakeholders expressed concern over hosting the ZIAFIS 2023 Summit the same week as the Agric Show.

The new dates have been set for 04 to 05 October, 2023 at the same venue, Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

Stakeholders want the ZIAFIS Summit brand to stand out on its own in order to achieve maximum impact, according to a statement issued on Monday by Pungwe Agri-Group, the organisers of the meeting.

Zambia Monitor, a leading online newspaper focused on business and policy, has been chosen as one of the official media partners of the event.

“Thus for maximum impact, to preserve the brand equity of the Summit and to accommodate availability of Senior Related Government Stakeholders, we unanimously agreed to reschedule the ZIAFIS 2023 dates from the initial July 31 and August 1, 2023 to October 04 2023 and October 5, 2023.

“The ZIAFIS 2023 Summit remains a flagship brand that is aligned with Zambia’s vision to develop the Agriculture sector through Private Sector participation and Public Private Partnerships (PPP) collaborations,” the statement indicated.

ZIAFIS 2023 will run under the theme: “Mobilising Capital Investments for Agriculture & Climate Smart Food Systems Development – Ensuring Local, Regional and Global Food Security.”

This is a high-level meeting which will highlight critical issues such as access to climate smart agriculture, drought resistant inputs, and access to user-friendly payment platforms for the farmer’s community, among others.

It will also discuss flexible financing options and promotion of investment partnerships that were inherent to the development of Agriculture and Climate Smart Food Systems in Zambia.

“We seek to strengthen Zambia’s strategic position as a food security anchor on the continent by driving mutually beneficial agriculture capital investments into the country,” the organisers stated.
