The Zambian Immigration authorities have deported Taciddin Sahutoglu, a 55-year-old Turkish Residence Permit holder, for sexually abusing his female employees.

Sahutoglu, a Director and Shareholder at Deniz Blocks and Pavers Factory in Lusaka, was deported following a thorough investigation.

Department of Immigration Public Relations Officer, Namati Nshinka, said in a press release issued in Lusaka on Monday that Sahutoglu was deported on June 14, 2024, after the conclusion of the investigations into the abuse reports.

“Investigations also revealed glaring breaches of labour laws, such as non-adherence to the minimum wage by the company,” Nshinka said.

The Department revoked Sahutoglu’s Residence Permit before his deportation, which was carried out under a warrant signed by the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Jack Mwiimbu.

Sahutoglu departed Zambia aboard an Emirates flight via Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.

“This deportation should serve as a timely warning to foreign employers who exploit, harass and abuse their vulnerable employees,” Nshinka stated.

He warned that the Department would not hesitate to revoke such employers’ permits and recommend their deportation.

Nshinka also encouraged employees to report erring employers to the relevant authorities.
