Six agreements in various areas of cooperation, including extradition of criminal fugitives have been signed between Zambia and Burundi.
The agreements also included areas such as commercial cooperation, social protection and child welfare, agriculture research and education.
The signing of the agreements at State House on Thursday was witnessed by President Hakainde Hichilema and his visiting Burundi counterpart, Evariste Ndayishimiye.

During the signing ceremony, President Hichilema said the two countries must devise full utilisation of Lake Tanganyika, including connecting the water body to the TAZARA Corridor at Nseluka near Kasama.
President Ndayishimiye said the two countries enjoyed warm relationships and also shared common values and culture.
