Zambezi River Authority Chief Executive Officer, Munyaradzi Munodawafa, has directed the contractor working on the mother’s shelter at Chabboboma Health Center in Gwembe District to redo the works before the facility can be handed over to government.
Munodawafa made the directive during the inspection of the newly installed Mortuary Cold Room at the Health Center on Saturday in the company of Gwembe Member of Parliament, Tyson Simuzingili.
The mother’s shelter is being financed by the Zambezi River Authority using the Zambezi Valley Development Fund, a fund which was created to help people who were displaced during the construction of the Kariba Dam.
He expressed regret that the floor of the facility had already started developing cracks even before its official handover to government.
“I wish pledge that the Authority will renovate the entire health facility to improve its livability before the handover to the government,” Munodawafa said.

Gwembe Constituency Member of Parliament, Tyson Simuzingili, warned individuals behind the rampant theft of both public and private properties in the District to desist from their criminal activities or face arrest.
Simuzingili expressed concern that the theft incidents in the area have potential to undermine the progress that has been achieved so far.
“The police and community should closely work together and enhance security measures to address the rising theft levels,” he said.
