At the 2024 Kwacha Music Awards, Zambia’s music industry celebrated a night of vibrant talent and dedication, with artistes from various genres taking center stage to be honored for their contributions.
Yo Maps emerged as one of the night’s top winners, clinching awards for Best Male Artiste of the Year and International Achievements.
Chile One, another fan favorite, took home accolades for Best Afro Fusion/R&B Song and Most Conscious Song, proving his versatility and lyrical depth in capturing socially relevant themes.

Meanwhile, hip-hop sensation Chef 187 was recognised with the Best Hip Hop of the Year award, adding another feather to his cap in a genre he’s dominated.
Macky 2, known for his impactful presence both in music and community work, was awarded the Humanitarian Award for his charitable efforts.
The vibrant track “Umpawi” by Jaymax received dual honors, winning both Best Collaboration and Best Mainstream/Pop Song, while the dynamic duo Chanda na Kay took home the Best Duo award.
In the dancehall category, T-Sean claimed the title of Best Dancehall, continuing his reign as a key player in the genre.
A notable highlight was Moses Sakala’s Lifetime Achievement Award, alongside this recognition, he also won Best Folk Music with the track “Lishombe” featuring Angelina Nyirenda.
Xaven shone brightly on the female side, capturing the Best Female Artiste award.
In the gospel scene, Reuben’s uplifting song “Ishiwi” was recognised as Best Gospel Song in the male category, while Christine’s heartfelt “Mfisa Yesu” won in the female category.
The Gospel Album of the Year award went to Peace Preachers and the Best Choir award was earned by the Defence and Security Choir.
