During a court case involving former Secretary-General Davies Mwila Patriotic Front, a witness, Catherine Mashoko, General Manager at Alliance Media, has testified that the party signed a contract worth K11.4 million for advertising services during the 2021 general elections.
Mwila faces charges of possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime and failure to report suspicious transactions, related to an amount of over K102 million believed to be election campaign funds.
Mashoko informed the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that Alliance Media agreed to provide advertising space during the 2021 election campaigns, with Mwila signing the contract as PF Secretary-General.

The K11,469,407 payment was made in four instalments by PF through electronic transfer from Anna Mwitwa Legal Practitioners’ account to Alliance Media’s account.
She detailed that the agreement covered services worth K11.4 million, including rental for billboard space for four months, printing, and installation of advertising materials.
Under cross-examination, Mashoko clarified that she did not report the transactions as suspicious, as she did not perceive them to be proceeds of crime.
Furthermore, she disclosed that Alliance Media also provided advertising services to the Socialist Party.
The case is being presided over by Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili.
