Prophetess Precious Lungu’s decision to invite Yo Maps as a guest of honor sparked debate, with some social media users questioning why she did not choose a fellow gospel artiste.
Lungu, who gained online attention for her energetic dance moves in church, had invited Yo Maps to be the guest of honor at her event.
In a video posted on social media, she urged followers to tag him, hoping he would accept her invitation.
Addressing the criticism, Lungu defended her choice, stating that God does not discriminate in whom He works through.

“People are questioning why I chose Yo Maps. This is my choice. I chose him because people mock and insult those who ask for help on social media. When I sought assistance for our church’s leaking roof, no Christian came to our aid. But Yo Maps helps people, and he is a Christian,” she said in a widely shared video.
While unable to attend due to international commitments, Yo Maps responded with a gesture of goodwill.
In a social media post, he expressed regret for missing the event and pledged financial support.
“I know I won’t be available to perform at your album launch because I am performing outside the country on that day, but I would love to help. Please tag her. I have K10,000 for her,” he wrote.
Lungu’s remarks have ignited further discussions on the intersection of gospel music and secular artistes in Zambia’s music industry.
