The government has officially renamed Longacres Mall to Kenneth Kaunda (KK) Mall.
Tourism Minister, Rodney Sikumba, announced the change during a ceremony in Lusaka, highlighting the importance of the KK statue erected at the mall as a significant landmark for both the country and the tourism sector.
“It’s important that we rename this mall in honor of our founding father,” Sikumba stated.

He emphasized that the renaming served as a reminder of Kaunda’s influence in shaping Zambia’s identity and his enduring legacy.
Sikumba also noted that the renaming was intended to encourage the public to embody the principles of unity, quality, and justice.
“Let’s be inspired and emulate his lifestyle,” he urged, calling on citizens to uphold Kaunda’s vision for a better and prosperous Zambia.
“We must work tirelessly towards realizing his vision for our nation,” he concluded.
