Weeks after Vlogger, Florence Solochi, made the allegations of sexual assault, Zambia Police have taken keen interest in the matter that was circulated on social media.
Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, called on Solochi to lodge in a formal complaint over the allegations made so as to enable the police investigate the matter further.
Hamoonga informed the public that Solochi had been summoned for interviews in Kabwe on April 2, which further details would be availed once investigations were concluded.
He said according to the post on Facebook, Solochi claimed to be a victim of sodomy.
Hamoonga in a statement issued in Lusaka on Tuesday, said despite the seriousness of this allegation, the alleged victim had not formally lodged a complaint with the Police.
He encouraged Solochi to provide formal statements and cooperate with authorities in order to properly investigate such matters.

“Without a formal complaint, it is challenging for law enforcement to fully investigate and take appropriate action,” Hamoonga stated.
He further encouraged anyone who had been a victim of a crime to come forward and report the incident to the police.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of our community, and we are committed to thoroughly investigating any allegations of criminal activity,” Hamoonga said.
Last month, Solochi had accused her uncle and cousins on social media of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager.
