Chimwemwe Ward Councilor, Kelly Muwowo, says the intermittent water supply by the utility company, Nkana Water and Sanitation Company (NWSC) had become worrisome.
The civic leader feared that the erratic water supply in the area and elsewhere was source of concern due to reported outbreak of typhoid elsewhere.
“The major challenge is erratic water supply in my area and elsewhere, and to make matters worse, the company is not communicating what is causing the short supply of water and this has been going on for quite some time,” Muwowo observed in an interview with the Zambia Monitor on Friday.

His office had written to the water utility company, but the response had not yet come forth, according to him.
Muwowo observed that Chimwemwe had one of the highest in terms of population, hence the need for measures to resolve the water blues.
“We have one of the highest populations in Kitwe, the area needs constant supply of water, not like the current situation,” he stated.
