According to Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda, during her visit to Zambia, Harris will hold official talks with President Hakainde Hichilema to discuss regional and global priorities.
Kasanda who is Information and Media Minister said the discussion will also include the two countries shared commitments to democracy, inclusive and sustainable growth and food security.

“The Summit, which is the second in the series, will be held under the theme: “Free, Fair and Transparent Elections as the foundation of Democratic Governance,” Kasanda said.
She said the first Summit was held in December 2021, and was hosted by the United States Government.
“Government wishes to stress that the selection of Zambia to co-host the Second Summit for Democracy is an honour to the country and urges the Zambian people to take the gesture with a sense of pride,” Kasanda said.
She said in a statement on Friday that the gesture is in recognition of Zambia’s unwavering commitment to strengthening democracy, promoting respect for human rights, and the rule of law as shared responsibilities, within the country and the region.
