Frank Bwalya, the Director General of Media under the Presidential Support Programme for the ruling UPND, has expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the 2026 elections.

Bwalya said the party was using its incumbency positively to bring development to all corners of the country, which he expressed believe would secure their victory in the next elections.

Responding to opposition claims that the UPND would lose in 2026, Bwalya asserted that Zambians appreciated the UPND’s developmental agenda.

He highlighted that the UPND government had increased the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and made it more accessible to people across the country.

“The party is winning by-elections because Zambians believe in its developmental agenda and appreciate the steps taken to restore the economy,” Bwalya stated.

He also noted that the government was implementing several economic measures aimed at reducing inflation, strengthening the local currency, and improving the overall economy.

He said the UPND’s effective use of incumbency had resulted in a high level of trust among Zambians.

“We are winning by-elections because we are informing people about our accomplishments and future plans, such as the increased CDF and the restoration of meal allowances for students at higher institutions of learning, among other interventions,” Bwalya said.
