A harrowing case of alleged child abuse has unfolded in Libala South, where two men stand accused of sodomizing a seven-year-old girl.

The Lusaka Magistrate’s Court found sufficient evidence to proceed with the case against Benson Mwila, 20, and Benson Njovu, 19.

According to testimony, the young victim was lured to an unfinished building near her home around 20:00 hours on March 4, 2024, while she was playing with friends. She was later reported to have been subjected to unimaginable trauma.

The accused allegedly used seal tape to silence the child and applied an unknown white substance to her private parts before having carnal knowledge of her through the anus.

The victim reported that this was not the first time the incident occurred. She initially hesitated to inform her mother, who later discovered the victim’s injuries after she woke up with pain and sores on her private parts.

The mother was informed about the incident the following day, and the matter was subsequently reported to the police.

The accused are facing charges under Section 155(a) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of Unnatural offences.
