investors.

He highlighted some of the benefits of the Public Private Partnership which include speeding up the completion of projects and generate revenue for government and the public.

Tayali said the business community in Türkiye stood a better chance to benefit from Zambia’s central geographical position, land linked connectivity position and existing peace in and around the country.

“The Zambia Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, has directed the PPP Council to undertake study tours of countries that have successfully implemented Public Private Partnership projects for the purpose of learning
and sharing knowledge, experiences, innovations and best practices,” Tayali said.

He said the government’s policy position had emphasised the importance of PPP and envisaged to achieve this through strengthening the PPP legal and regulatory framework.

PPPs, he said, would help Zambia actualise its potential in the region through increased connectivity with other neighbouring countries and supporting increased investment, trade and economic growth.

“The development agenda of Zambia, in the wake of constrained fiscal space in the country, will be actualized through private sector engagement,” Tayali said.
