Authorities are probing an explosion outside the Trump Las Vegas Hotel involving a Tesla Cybertruck as a potential act of terror, The Post has learned.
The electric pickup truck erupted into flames outside the hotel around 8:40 a.m. local time, according to dramatic surveillance footage shared online. The footage showed the vehicle blowing apart, with shattered glass, metal panels, and debris scattering in all directions.
A plume of thick smoke engulfed the hotel’s entrance as the Cybertruck was reduced to a fiery wreck. Seven bystanders sustained minor injuries, while the driver, who had pulled the truck into the valet area moments before the explosion, was killed.
“A 2024 Cybertruck pulled up to the front of the hotel, and in fact, I can tell you, it pulled right up to the glass entrance doors of the hotel. We saw smoke start showing from the vehicle, and then a large explosion,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Sheriff Kevin McMahill told reporters.
Officials are investigating a possible link between the vehicle and a recent tragedy in New Orleans, as the Cybertruck was reportedly rented through the same app used by a truck involved in that incident.
