Gold dealer, Sedrick Kasanda, has withdrawn his legal case against the state, in which he sought protection from alleged harassment.
In a notice of discontinuance filed at the Lusaka High Court, Kasanda confirmed he was dropping the case against the state, represented by the Attorney General.
Kasanda had previously claimed harassment despite his role as a whistleblower in the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport gold scandal.
He alleged threats of further property seizures after exposing a network involving Congolese nationals, a South African and Egyptians.

In his original suit, Kasanda argued that the state’s actions amounted to unlawful retaliation in violation of the Public Interest Disclosure (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act No. 4 of 2010.
He sought damages, an interim order to halt reprisals, and legal costs.
With the recent filing, the case had now been discontinued.
