Trident Football Club has announced a major shake-up of its technical bench, reportedly parting ways with Head Coach Ernest Kofi by mutual agreement.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Team Media Officer, Innocent Mwansa, confirmed that the club has appointed George Chilufya as the new Head Coach until the end of the season.
Chilufya, a holder of a CAF A coaching license, brings extensive experience, having previously managed Super League sides Nkana FC and Mutondo Stars FC.
To support him, the club has also reportedly named Jackson Mwanza, formerly of Mpulungu Harbor, as First Assistant Coach for the remainder of the season.
The coaching staff will be further strengthened by Arnold Malisawa, Graven Chitalu, and goalkeeper trainer Isaac Shimoko.
Trident FC Chief Executive Officer, Mang’ulenje Mvula, expressed confidence in Chilufya’s leadership, stating that the club expects significant on-field improvement and hopes to secure promotion to the Super League.
“Chilufya’s primary objective will be to guide the team back to the Super League, and we are optimistic about achieving success under his guidance,” Mvula said.
