The trial involving former PF Secretary-General, Davies Mwila, accused of possessing tainted property, has been postponed as Mwila is currently receiving medical treatment in India.

Mwila, along with Lusaka lawyer Sylvia Mwitwa, faces charges of possessing property suspected to be proceeds of crime and failing to report suspicious transactions related to the 2021 election campaign funds exceeding K102 million.

On Tuesday, when the case was scheduled to continue before Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili, the court was informed that Mwila was absent due to his hospitalization.

The defense stated that he was expected to return by September 14 and requested that the trial be rescheduled to a date after his return.

The State raised no objections to the request, and the court adjourned the matter to September 24, 2024, for the continuation of the trial.
