TP Mazembe coach, Lamine N’diaye, has expressed respect for the Red Arrows as they prepare for their CAF Champions League second round, first leg encounter at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Speaking at a pre-match press briefing in Ndola on Friday, N’diaye acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting that the Red Arrows were well-prepared after playing two previous matches.

Despite facing difficulties, N’diaye stated the team’s experience and commitment to starting strongly.

“It is going to be a very difficult game because we are playing a team which has already played two games. We have experience in the Champions League, so we will prepare for the match accordingly, even if we have faced some challenges. We aim to perform better tomorrow,” he stated.

N’diaye also highlighted his respect for the Red Arrows, praising their recent performance against Nyasa Big Bullets.

“We respect Red Arrows; they are a good team and had a strong game at home against Nyasa Big Bullets,” he said.

N’diaye acknowledged that the current TP Mazembe squad had fewer national team players compared to past rosters, noting a decline in the team’s international stature.

“We can’t compare the TP Mazembe of now with the past. Previously, we had up to nine players in the national team, but now our players mostly participate in CHAN,” he remarked.

N’diaye, who was familiar with Zambian teams from his time with TP Mazembe in 2011, recalled a mixed result against Power Dynamos, including a 1-1 draw at home and a 6-0 away loss.

The match between Red Arrows and TP Mazembe is set for Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
