Tottenham secured a 2-0 victory over Brentford on Sunday, courtesy of Vitaly Janelt’s own goal and a late strike from Pape Sarr.

The first half was frantic but lacked quality, with the deadlock broken in the 29th minute when Spurs captain Heung-min Son’s whipped corner deflected off Janelt and into the net.

The Standard reported that Brentford started the second half strongly, with Yoane Wissa hitting the bar from close range.

However, they struggled to create clear chances before substitute Sarr sealed the win—Tottenham’s second in 12 league games.

Brentford suffered their fourth defeat in five home league matches, remaining 11th with 31 points from 24 games. Meanwhile, Spurs climbed to 14th with 27 points, despite missing key players, including star defender Micky van de Ven.
