Only businesses that prioritize Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption currently will be better positioned to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the future, says Tech enthusiast, Francis Lombe.
Lombe emphasised that the key lied in understanding the role of analytics, preparing data for AI integration, and leveraging AI tools to drive innovation and economic growth.
In the latest BongoHive newsletter, Lombe said there were many quick wins that AI offerred today, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes.
He said with a little research, individuals could explore automation opportunities within their specific roles, unlocking efficiencies in everyday tasks such as report writing, data entry, and customer communication.
“One of the most transformative aspects of AI in Africa is its ability to lower the cost of developing proof-of-concept models. In the past, turning an idea into a viable product required significant investment, often necessitating multiple hires across marketing, development, and operations.
“Today, AI enables start-up founders to wear multiple hats, assisting with tasks such as generating marketing plans, conducting market research, and automating customer outreach,” Lombe said.
He said instead of relying on networks to find specialists for every aspect of business development, entrepreneurs could now also use AI-driven tools to bridge these gaps.
“While technical expertise is still required at various stages, AI significantly reduces the initial barriers to entry, making entrepreneurship more accessible across the continent,” he said.
