A 24-year-old student from Information Communication University (ICU) in Lusaka has gone missing after revealing that he had borrowed K13,000 for a business venture, which later grew into a K20,000 debt.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, stated that Chilenje Police Station is investigating the incident.
In a statement issued in Lusaka on Sunday, Hamoonga identified the missing student as Mark Kabika, a fourth-year student at ICU.

Kabika was last seen on Tuesday at the ICU campus, carrying his laptop and phone. The following day, he was not seen on campus, prompting the university management to contact his father.
The police received a missing person report on Saturday at 13:00 hours, filed by Buxtone Kabika, 65, of Barlastone Park, regarding his son.
According to the report, Mark had borrowed K13,000 to invest in a business venture with a friend, a student at Copperbelt University (CBU) known only as Martin.
Seven days before his disappearance, Mark informed his father that he was under pressure from those he had borrowed money from, as the debt had accumulated to K20,000.
His father suspects that the debt may be connected to his son’s disappearance.
The police have been provided with two phone numbers that may assist in the investigation.
An inquiry file for a missing person has been opened, and investigations are said to be ongoing.
