United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has continued to cement its effort towards financial inclusion and economic growth across Africa, Zambia included.
In this quest, the Bank’s ED/CEO Africa Abiola Bawuah made a visit to Zambia signifying UBA’s commitment to foster positive impact in the country.
During her visit, she engaged in productive meetings at Bank of Zambia (BOZ) and Ministry of Finance and National Planning to share the bank’s strategic vision for Zambia, reaffirming the bank’s dedication to bridging the financial inclusion gap, by empowering individuals and businesses through accessible and innovative financial solutions, trade and investment.
The ED/CEO’s discussions with BOZ Deputy Governor Dr. Francis Chipimo and MOFNP Secretary to The Treasury Mr Felix Nkulukusa also highlighted UBA’s ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting efforts in building a resilient financial system.
“Zambia is a nation with great wanders still birthing and it is because we believe in the vision of this nation that we remain deeply committed to supporting its financial and economic aspirations,” said Abiola Bawuah. “UBA is invested in providing equitable access to financial services, access to foster greater economic stability and job opportunities.”
Bawuah’s visit also featured discussions with some of UBA Zambia’s key clients, where she explored avenues to strengthen partnerships for expansion and further enhance customer experience for customer satisfaction.

“Our customers are the footprint on which UBA exists, and we acknowledge that no one will develop Africa for us unless Africans. As a result, we are committed to strengthen collaborative efforts in ensuring we provide tailored financial solutions designed to support growth for all,” she emphasised.
As Bawuah’s visit concluded, she reiterated the bank’s commitment to Zambia, stating, “Our partnership with Zambia is not just about financial transactions; it’s about building a long-term relationship with the people and the economy. We are here to stay and support Zambia.”
