The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) has confiscated 132 cases of non-compliant fruit-flavored drinks and bottled water in Lusaka, valued at K12,780.

The seizure took place during a market surveillance inspection in the Kamwala Trading area.

Agency Public Relations Officer, Onishias Maamba, stated that the beverages were seized for being illegally supplied in violation of Zambian laws.

Maamba warned of strict punitive measures against entities manufacturing, importing and supplying non-compliant products.

“ZCSA will continue conducting enforcement and public education activities across Zambia to ensure that only safe products are supplied to consumers,” he said.

Maamba also advised consumers to purchase beverages from reputable suppliers and avoid those from questionable sources, as consuming unverified products can pose significant health and safety risks.
