Stanbic Bank Zambia has expressed interest in partnering with the Zambia National Service (ZNS) to drive national development and enhance the financial well-being of ZNS personnel.

Stanbic Chief Executive Officer, Mwindwa Siakalima, said the bank aimed to collaborate with ZNS on various business initiatives, including agriculture, mining, and other key industries.

Speaking during a courtesy call on ZNS Commander Lieutenant General, Engineer Maliti Solochi II in Lusaka on Thursday, Siakalima emphasized the importance of financial planning for men and women in uniform, particularly in preparation for life after active service.

“We are ready to support ZNS, not only in business initiatives but also in improving the welfare of its personnel as they plan for retirement. We have financial packages for housing, agriculture, and other investment opportunities that align with their needs,” Siakalima said.

In response, the ZNS Commander welcomed the proposal and expressed interest in formalising the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

He highlighted that ZNS was more than a military institution, playing a key role in agricultural expansion and infrastructure development.

“We have several business ideas where we see potential for partnership, including agriculture, insurance, mining, and housing, all aimed at enhancing the welfare of our personnel during and after service,” Solochi said.

He added that working with forward-thinking partners like Stanbic Bank would enhance ZNS’s reach and effectiveness in contributing to national development.

Both parties expressed optimism about the proposed partnership, which they believe could positively impact Zambia’s socio-economic landscape.
