Socialist Party youth wing queries anti-graft agency’s silence on alleged probe of ministers

The Socialist Party Youth Wing has questioned the Anti-Corruption Commission’s silence regarding its investigation of Cabinet Ministers and the Solicitor General.

Stanley Muba’sa, the Socialist Party National Youth spokesperson, expressed concern that the commission had not provided updates on the findings of its investigations.

“The nation was informed about the investigations against the Cabinet Ministers and Solicitor General Marshal Muchende, yet the commission has suddenly gone quiet,” Muba’sa told Zambia Monitor.

He highlighted the inconsistency in communication, noting that the commission initially announced the investigations but had not informed the public of their progress or outcomes.

“The dissolving of the ACC Board was due to a confession by Dr. Brian Kaaba, who revealed that the fight against corruption was questionable, especially since those involved were allegedly complicit,” Muba’sa stated.

He added that Kaaba named the Solicitor General, who, he argued, should have resigned or be dismissed by now.

Muba’sa called on the youth to take a stand against corruption, urging them to become more active in advocating for the removal of corrupt officials.

“President Hichilema and his government cannot be allowed to play double standards on these matters. The nation should stand up and end his misrule in 2026,” he concluded.
