Smart Zambia Institute calls for collaboration in ICT sector to hasten digital transformation

Percy Chinyama, National Coordinator of the Smart Zambia Institute, has urged professionals in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector to unite and collaborate instead of competing.

During a stakeholder meeting with 25 Heads of ICT from parastatal institutions in Lusaka, Chinyama stated the importance of collaboration for finding solutions and achieving economic development through integration.

“If we root out competitiveness and embrace integration, we can attain significant economic growth,” he stated.

Chinyama highlighted the government’s launch of 1,000 online services on the Government Service Bus (GSB) and stressed the need to promote such milestones.

He also underlined the importance of capacity building to foster excellence within the sector.

Government Chief Technical Officer, Kasali Musenge, added that the ICT sector played a crucial role in digitizing the country, a task that required collective effort.

“This meeting offerred a valuable opportunity for ICT professionals to interact and network, which is essential for advancing our digitization agenda,” she noted.
