Social media vlogger, Chitambala Mwewa, popularly known as Simon Mwewa, has apologised to the court for failing to appear during a trial session, citing forgetfulness as the reason for his absence.

Mwewa, a key witness in the case against senior Patriotic Front (PF) member Chishimba Kambwili, explained that he had a conflicting matter at the High Court on the same day and inadvertently forgot about the trial.

The court had issued a bench warrant against Mwewa in November, 2024 after he failed to testify.

However, the warrant was revoked, with the court giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Kambwili is facing one count of unlawful assembly, with the case adjourned to March 6, 2025, for further trial.

The court has warned the state to ensure that all witnesses are present at the next hearing or risk closing the case.
