Copperbelt Minister, Elias Matambo, says critics of the government would soon be put to shame as the much talked about Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage road upgrade had taken off.
Matambo said this when he toured a two kilometre stretch being worked on by Avic International as part of the road works earmarked to be undertaken under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Ndola on Tuesday.
He said contrary to critics of the government, the works being undertaken at Jacaranda Mall signified the commencement of actual works.
“Doomsayers were mocking the government that the road project will not start but work has commenced,” he told journalists.

In February this year, the Zambian government signed a US$577 million concession agreement with Macro-Ocean Investment Consortium for the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of 327 Kilometers Ndola-Lusaka Dual Carriage Way.
On the pending Mopani Copper Mine (MCM) deal, Matambo assured that it was just a matter of days before an investor to take over Mopani mining assets would be announced.
“Like we have unlocked Konkola Copper Mine (MCM), for Mopani it is just a matter of days an investor will be announced, this government will continue fulfilling campaign promises one by one ,” Matambo bragged.
