When the matter came up before magistrate Trevor Kasanda, the state applied to amend the indictment stating that count two of the two charges should be removed according to section 213 of the Criminal Procedure Code because it had the same facts with count one.
Magistrate Kasanda granted the application and removed count two and read count one but Mwansa pleaded not guilty.
It is alleged that Mwansa on dates unknown but between October 12, 2023 and October 17, 2023 in Lusaka used insulting language to President Hichilema by saying “I think HH banoko balibalile icisungu elyo wafyalwa pafiko tombanoko.”
