Matero Member of Parliament, Miles Sampa, has sought leave of the Lusaka High Court to commence contempt of Court proceedings against Patriotic Front (PF) acting president, Given Lubinda, and his Secretary General, Raphael Nakacinda.

Sampa on Wednesday filed an application seeking leave to apply for an order of committal for contempt of court against the duo.

He argued that Lubinda and Nakacinda had blatantly disregarded the exparte injunction granted on February 9, 2023, by Judge Timothy Katanekwa, restraining them from holding themselves in their position or carrying out party functions pending determination of the matter.

The ex-parte injunction also extended to former acting secretary General Nickson Chilangwa.

Sampa filed a lawsuit citing Lubinda and Chilangwa challenging his suspension from the party.

He seeks a declaration that the defendants’ decision to suspend him as member of central committee was invalid and should be annulled for being procedurally improper and a breach of the rules of natural justice.
