President Hakainde Hichilema has been urged to speed up anti-corruption cases before the courts.
This would determine whether some people never stole and can be free, factional Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Mafinga Member of Parliament, Robert Chabinga, said.
“Your Excellency, President Hakainde Hichilema, please wake up, this is not a church. Can all state machinery be activated before that seat is taken away from you,” Chabinga said.
Miles Sampa-led Patriotic Front (PF) faction further called on the Police in the country to arrest any one masquerading as party President apart from the Matero lawmaker.
Chabinga said Sampa was the PF president and all those parading themselves as such should be arrested.
Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka on Sunday, Chabinga said the return of former president Edgar Lungu into active politics had no effect on Sampa’s position and that the status quo remained the same.
Chabinga said people who lured Lungu to come back to active politics only wanted a share of his money, abuse him and get his political connections.
“Whoever will have a meeting in the name of PF other than Miles Sampa and Secretary General Morgan Ng’ona should be arrested,” he said.
Chabinga who had described the Given Lubinda-led faction as masqueraders said the Sampa camp would write to the Inspector-General of Police over the matter.
He said Lungu had made a very bad political move because the same people who are screaming “ALEBWELELAPO” are the same people who made him loose in 2021 general elections.
“The same way we used to put Edgar Lungu as President in 2015 is the same way we are using to put Miles Sampa as President, so do not say United Party for National Development (UPND) paid us,” Chabinga said.
He said a number of people who have lured Lungu to come back to active politics are cowards who should not be trusted but be treated with caution.
“They are so many ways to bring a snake out of a hole, one way is to put diesel in it and congratulations to Miles Sampa for bringing the snake out of the hole by putting diesel,” Chabinga said.
