Liverpool moved nine points clear at the top of the Premier League as Mohamed Salah scored twice in a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Arne Slot’s side faced a tough challenge against a Bournemouth team unbeaten in 11 league games since November 23. However, Salah proved decisive, netting a first-half penalty before sealing the win with a brilliant solo goal in the second half.

In the match reported by The Independent, the Egyptian forward, now the league’s top scorer with 21 goals, secured Liverpool’s 17th win in 23 matches, keeping their title push firmly on track.

Bournemouth, who remained seventh, put up a fight, hitting the woodwork twice through Antoine Semenyo and Marcus Tavernier.

Liverpool now sit on 56 points, with Arsenal and Nottingham Forest trailing on 47. Arsenal host fourth-placed Manchester City (41 points) on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Everton thrashed Leicester to ease relegation fears.

Everton scored twice in the opening six minutes, including the fourth-fastest goal in Premier League history, to thrash Leicester City at Goodison Park.

According to the BBC, Abdoulaye Doucoure fired Everton ahead after just 10.18 seconds, latching onto Jordan Pickford’s long ball to record the fastest goal ever by an Everton player. Only Shane Long, Philip Billing, and Ledley King have scored quicker in Premier League history.

Beto doubled the lead minutes later, taking advantage of poor Leicester defending to slot past Mads Hermansen.

The game was effectively over before halftime when James Garner set up Beto for his second, making it 3-0. Iliman Ndiaye added a late fourth as Everton secured their third consecutive win, moving 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Leicester, managed by Ruud van Nistelrooy, remain in deep trouble, sitting just one point above the bottom three.

Aro Muric’s goalkeeping errors proved costly once again as relegation-threatened Southampton secured a 2-1 win at Portman Road, keeping their survival hopes alive.

Sky Sports reported that Muric, who was only recalled to Ipswich’s starting lineup due to Christian Walton’s injury, has now made more errors leading to goals than any other keeper this season.

In the first half, he failed to keep out Joe Aribo’s volley, allowing Saints to take the lead against the run of play.

After Liam Delap equalized for Ipswich, Muric’s misfortune continued in the 87th minute when he parried Kamaldeen Sulemana’s shot straight to Paul Onuachu, who capitalized to snatch the winner.
