League leaders ZESCO United have suffered a shock defeat away to Prison Leopards in a FAZ Super League week 19 encounter at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.

ZESCO United’s nine game unbeaten run came to a screeching halt after Prison Leopards overcame via a slender 1-nil victory.

The upset leaves ZESCO United still top of the FAZ Super League with just one point ahead of Red Arrows who closed the gap yesterday with a resounding 4-1 win over FC MUZA.

Nigerian striker, David Obashi, converted a penalty kick in first half stoppage time which was enough to end ZESCO’s recent fine form.

The west African centre forward returned from the treatment table in style after a two match injury lay off, with the striker hitting the woodwork earlier in the 18th minute of the match.

Obashi’s performance earned him a man of the match award at full time.

Despite the shock win, Prison Leopards are currently still languishing in the relegation zone , as they are second from bottom with 17 points only above Trident FC who have 10.
