President Hakainde Hichilema, will undertake a one-day working visit to the Kingdom of Lesotho, authorities have said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Stanely Kakubo, said Hichilema would undertake the trip in his capacity as Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation.

Kakubo said this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Thursday

He said Hichilema would undertake the trip on November 2, 2023, and would be supported by the SADC Panel of Elders on the mission.

“This is in line with the agreed decision by the Organ Troika Summit of Heads of State and Government which was convened on August, 16, 2023, in Luanda, Angola,” Kakubo said.

He said the President was expected to hold consultations with the leadership and other selected stakeholders on issues and developments in the Kingdom of Lesotho.

“Hichilema remains firmly committed to implementing the decisions of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation in order to foster peace, security and stability in the region,” Kakubo said.
