President Hichilema suspends three constitutional court judges

President Hakainde Hichilema has suspended three judges of the Constitutional Court of Zambia effective immediately.

The suspended judges are Justice Anne Sitali, Justice Mungeni Mulenga, and Justice Palan Mulonda.

Clayson Hamasaka, the State House Chief Communications Specialist, confirmed the suspensions in a statement issued on Monday, noting that the President acted based on recommendations from the Judicial Complaints Commission.

“The suspension of the three is in exercise of the powers vested in the President under Article 144 (3) of the Constitution of Zambia,” Hamasaka stated.
