President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia will maintain laws that abhor alien orientations like gayism and lesbianism.

He said in Chingola on Tuesday during a meeting with members of the clergy at Life Gospel Church International that some people with lazy minds had been accusing him of supporting lesbianism.

Hichilema said some people wanted to sustain such accusations even when he had categorically distanced himself from such .

He added that he had on several occasions heard such innuendos since he was in opposition that he supported alien orientations.

He condemned those who peddle lies against him instead of channeling their efforts towards progressive activities, saying his main preoccupation was to rebuild the economy.

The President urged Zambians to work hard and that the church should be integrated to drive the country’s economy.

Life Gospel Church International presiding Bishop Joseph Kazhila urged the President to continue stressing his strong message against lesbians and gay orientation.

He said the country should unite to eliminate the evil in the country further observing that it was surpassing that of the time of Noah in the Bible.

Bishop Kazhila said the church would continue embracing all the politicians in the country but ‘repel’ troublesome ones .

The members of the clergy who attended the meeting with President Hichilema to present various issues were drawn from various Copperbelt towns.
