President Hakainde Hichilema has arrived in the United States of Africa (USA) to attend the US-Africa Leaders Summit.
President Hichilema is today Monday, December 12, 2022 expected to attend a number of side events including discussions with the US Council of Foreign Relations, as well as taking part in a conversation with selected African Head of States.
This is according to the presidential spokesperson Anthony Bwalya in a statement issued from Zambia’s capital Lusaka.
The President would have discussion with Head of States including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Niger, Mozambique, Ghana and the Chairperson of the African Union.
The discussions would largely border on the need to enhance and leverage sustainable peace and security efforts, for inclusive economic development for all citizens.
Bwalya indicated that the President was later in the day expected to attend a dinner reception hosted by Senator Christopher Coons who was Co – Chair of the Congressional International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF).
ICCF is a platform that supports the conservation of natural resources through strategic partnerships and broad based knowledge sharing, among policy makers and the wider network of partners.
