President Hichilema appoints Kalala to Anti-Corruption Commission Board

President Hakainde Hichilema has appointed Jack Kalala, former aide to late President Dr Levy Mwanawasa, to the Anti-Corruption Commission Board.

The appointment is pending ratification by the National Assembly.

Clayson Hamasaka, State House Chief Communication Specialist, made the announcement in Lusaka on Monday.

Kalala, who also served as the former ZNBC Board Chairperson, was appointed under the powers “vested in the President by paragraph 2(3) of the schedule to Section 4(3) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.”

Additionally, Hichilema appointed Kephas Katongo and Eva Jhala as members of the Judicial Complaints Commission, subject to National Assembly ratification.

“The appointments are in exercise of the power vested in the President in section 20(2) of the Judicial Code of Conduct Act No. 13 of 1999,” Hamasaka said.

He conveyed the President’s congratulations to the appointees and wished them success in their new roles.
