Premier League Management has initiated a job recruitment of additional VAR operators following a controversial call that stirred up managers, players, and fans ahead of the final round of fixtures before the international break.

According to a British publishing house, a purported advertisement circulated among the top officials in the game, indicated that no prior experience was required for applicants.

The move appeared to have stirred after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta described VAR as an embarrassment following his 1-0 loss to Newcastle United on September 4, 2023.

The VAR drama continued in the Chelsea vs. Tottenham match, unfolding a series of events that highlighted the controversial use of VAR.

The 4-1 win for the Blues saw five goals disallowed and two red cards.

The Premier League hoped to ensure that VAR is not the main talking point in future games.

The biggest match of the weekend is Sunday’s clash between Manchester City and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
