Police in Lusaka on Tuesday quizzed former Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit National Coordinator, Chanda Kabwe, for more than three hours over the operations of the unit during his tenure of office.
Chanda’s Lawyer, Sakwiba Sikota, told Journalists in Lusaka on Tuesday after the ordeal that the continued Police interrogation of his client on a case yet to be established is pure harassment.
He said the Police were asking his client general questions regarding his functions during the time he served as DMMU National Coordinator.
“It is unfair that the police have continued interrogating and allegedly harassing his client without taking him to court if there is any offence,” Sikota said.

He has described Tuesday’s interrogation of Mr. Kabwe by the Police as a fishing expedition because there is no case ,which has been established against him.
“The Police have told my client that they will call him again when they need him and as his lawyers we are ready to take him back to avoid them citing that as a case,” Sikota said.
