A Zambia Police officer and three accomplices are set to appear before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 7, 2025, to face aggravated robbery charges after allegedly stealing US$250,000 and K200,000 from Zimbabwean businessman, Moses Muyamuri Sakutombo.
The accused included 42-year-old police officer, Humphrey Misale, alongside Allan Lyamba, 27, Moses Chiluba, and Michael Walawala, 44.
They have been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery under Section 294 (2) of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili has assigned the case to Magistrate Mwandu Sakala, who will preside over the proceedings.
According to the prosecution, the alleged crimes occurred in Lusaka between March 1 and March 2, 2025.
The suspects, acting together and armed with an unidentified firearm, allegedly stole US$250,000 from Sakutombo, using or threatening violence to subdue him.
The second charge involves the theft of K200,000 from the same victim under similar circumstances.
If convicted, the accused face a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of life imprisonment.
