Police launch manhunt, as Kasempa man bolts away after defiling minor

Police in Kasempa District of North-Western province are currently pursuing a man who is at large after suspected to have defiled a 12-year-old girl.

The suspect identified as Owen Lwindi is alleged to have carnal knowledge of the juvenile as she was sleeping in the house with her sibling, according to a statement by Northwestern Province Commanding Officer, Dennis Moola on Monday.

“On the material day Lwindi entered the house using the main door which was not locked. The suspect went to the girl’s bedroom and had carnal knowledge of the juvenile,” Moola said.

The victim was sleeping in the house with her six-year-old sister when she was awakened by Lwindi who was touching her.

He said when she asked him what he was doing he said he loved her and wanted to marry her and later told her that he wanted to have carnal knowledge of her, but she refused, and he forced himself on her.

“When the victim called for help her uncle heard her and he rushed to the bedroom to rescue her, immediately Lwindi saw the victim’s uncle in the room he ran away from the scene,” Moola said.

Police said the victim was taken to Mukinge mission hospital for treatment after complaining of abdominal pains.

A Manhunt for Lwindi who is still at large has been launched by the Kasempa police.
