Police are looking for a 26-year-old man of Chazanga compound in Lusaka identified as Mathews Mumba for sodomising a 4-year-old boy.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, said investigations showed that the victim was sharing the same room with the suspect who was his uncle.

Mwale said this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Saturday.

“The child complained to the mother of pain on the anal area and revealed that his uncle had canal knowledge of him between October 6, 2023 and October 10, 2023,” he said.

Mwale said the mother reported the incident to Police where a medical report form was issued and rushed the boy to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Mwale said a 25-year-old man of Kaunda Square Stage Two in Lusaka was on the run after defiling a 7-year-old girl.

“Police initial investigations indicate that Kenny Lungu who lives in the same neighbourhood with the victim, is alleged to have dragged her from outside where she was playing with his daughter into his bedroom,” he said.

Mwale said efforts by his daughter to rescue her friend failed and quickly she called the victim’s grandmother who rushed and found Lungu having canal knowledge of the girl.

He said the grandmother tried to apprehend the suspect but she was overpowered and that he managed to escape.

“The matter was reported to Police where a medical Report form was issued and the victim was rushed to the hospital,” Mwale said.

He said this occurred on October 13, 2023 around 14:00 hours at the suspect’s house in Kaunda Square.

Mwale said investigations were ongoing.
