A Rockview University law student, aged 23, Chipipa Saenge, has been arrested and charged for stabbing his fellow student, Police officials say.
Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, said Saenga had been charged with the offence of Unlawful Wounding Contrary to Section 232 (a) of the Penal Code Act Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Hamoonga said this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday
“This follows after Rabbeca Nakazwe, aged 39, a management staff and land lord of the boarding houses at Mungule Rockview University reported that one of the students, Kelvin Mwale, aged, 23, a tenant in one of her boarding houses was stabbed using a knife by his fellow student,” he said.
Hamoonga said this occurred on July 28, 2023 between 19:00 and 23:00 hours at Mungule Rockview University Boarding House.
He said the victim was rushed to Matero level one hospital and later referred to Levy Mwanawasa University Hospital.

“The victim was attended to at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital and later discharged on July 29, 2023,” Hamoonga said.
He said the suspect had been detained in custody as he had not yet secured sureties to sign police bond for him to be released.
Hamoonga said Saenge will appear in court soon.
