Hamoonga stated that Nakacinda’s arrest was based on charges under Section 57(1)(b) and Section 60(1)(j) of the Penal Code Act, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

In a statement issued in Lusaka on Wednesday, Hamoonga explained that Nakacinda, 46, allegedly made seditious remarks on September 26, 2024, which were widely circulated in a video on social media.
