Patriotic  Front (PF) Kitwe District Chairperson, Evaristo Chilufya, has described as ‘divisive’ and  cheap policking Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa’s claims that the former ruling party has been hijacked by Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD).

Sampa, who is PF aspiring candidate had alleged that some former MMD officials  hijacked the former ruling party during former President Edgar Lungu’s reign who he accused of hell-bent on hounding out founder members.

Chilufya said it was cheap politics for Mr Sampa being a senior member of the party to exhibit such acrimonious sentiments.

“This time we should have been preoccupied with reuniting the party, Mr  Sampa is a senior  member of the party  who cannot be talked about and he is a presidential candidate for PF, who is going to vote  for him?”  He asked.

Chilufya said in an interview on Wednesday in Kitwe that PF was in power for 10 years and to be in power for such a long time, it had to embrace and bring everyone on board.

“I came from United Party for National Independence Party (UNIP) and joined PF, its freedom of assembly, segregation of which one came from is unfounded, we should concentrate our efforts on rebuilding the party,” he said.

The PF founding member  said what the PF should concentrate on was to capitalise on the weaknesses of the ruling party if the party was to think of reclaiming the power back in 2026.

He said young leaders in the country should consult old people like him  who have seen it all  to build the future of the party.
